"In highly selective admissions, students stand out when their strengths are presented with care and intention. I help them do so with clarity, allowing their uniqueness and intellectual distinction to shine."
The college process can feel overwhelming.
I’m here to help.
I work one-on-one with students from eighth grade through senior year, helping them plan courses, summer work, and activities strategically, identify colleges that fit their strengths, research programs and internships, and develop strong application essays.
Unlike large corporate advising firms, I provide sustained, individualized guidance shaped by years of teaching and advising experience, offering families thoughtful support without the cost or impersonality of a large consulting operation.
Hi, I’m Zelda Thomas. I was educated at the National Cathedral School in Washington, DC, Sarah Lawrence College, and Columbia University, and have spent my career teaching students how to think, write, and present themselves with clarity and judgment.
I taught high school English and Social Studies in both public and private schools and have guided my own children through the college application process, giving me a clear understanding of what selective colleges look for.
I work closely with students to identify schools where they will thrive, plan rigorous courses and activities, pursue meaningful programs and internships, and develop clear, well-crafted essays for English, History, and college applications.
The majority of the students I work with are admitted to one of their top three choices.
